Memphis Mayor In Sex Scandal

Memphis Mayor, Willie Herenton, said he is in a sex scandal conspiracy.

The conspiracy involved a former cocktail waitress, Gwendolyn Smith. Smith told police she was paid to lure Herenton into meeting her for sex.

The people behind the plan, according to Smith, included: Memphis attorney Richard Fields and car dealer Russel Gwatney.

The Mayor, who is running for his fifth term said the focus of the plot was to undermine his re-election efforts.

Memphis police and the justice department are looking into the allegations.
