Spring Break Girls Gone Wild Gone to Jail

Infamous for his soft-porn videos, Joe Francis has been arrested and jailed on a federal warrant for criminal contempt of court.

The 34-year-old man was taken into custody after stepping off a privately chartered jet at Panama City Bay County International Airport. He appeared Tuesday afternoon before federal Magistrate Larry A. Bodiford, who ordered him held without bail.

The U.S. Marshal's Office in Panama City, Fla., said Francis was arrested at the Panama City airport and taken to the Bay County Jail, People magazine reported. Francis had previously said he would surrender to authorities, but airport police who recognized him carried out the arrest before he could present himself to the federal marshals.

A federal judge ordered Francis's arrest last week after he reportedly changed terms of a settlement arising from a 2003 lawsuit in which seven women accused him of victimizing them by filming them in sexual situations while they were on spring break in Panama City.
