(AXcess News) New York - Film star, Lindsay Lohan, 21, was booked, finger printed and then released on her own recognizance Thursday at the Beverly Hills police department where she was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol relating to a Memorial Day hit-and-run accident.

Lohan's drunken reckless bahavior landed the young and talented actress in rehab, though it's doubtful that a pouting teary-eyed "I'm sorry your honor" is going to clear Lohan of her responsibilities in facing up to the charges levied against her. Just like Paris Hilton, Lohan may go to jail and perhaps it would be the best thing for her to get a taste of reality if she sat behind bars.
